How to Plan a Roofing Quote in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan Questions to Ask Before Work Starts
What to gather before you enquire, the questions worth asking any roofer, and what an enquiry with Slateforge Roofing involves.

GATHER THE DETAILS FIRST.
Whatever the job — a repair, a pitched re-roof or a flat roof — the more clearly you can describe the problem, the more useful the first conversation will be. You do not need technical knowledge; clear observations and a few photos go a long way.
Only take photos you can capture safely from the ground. Nobody needs a closer look badly enough to warrant a ladder.
Useful things to have ready
- Your postcode or area
- Whether the roof is pitched (slate or tile) or flat
- What you have noticed, and roughly where on the roof
- How long it has been happening, and whether it worsens in heavy rain
- Photos, if you can take them safely from ground level
- For extensions or outbuildings: what the roof sits on and its rough size
